“I have a sign on the side of my pickup truck that reads, ‘I paint, therefore I am.’ This adaptation of the well-known quote by Descartes describes the importance of creative activity to me. Perhaps more than anything else, it’s what defines me and allows me to give my best to humanity and to my creator. While I express that creativity through a variety of mediums and activities, including music and writing, painting is where I’ve chosen to professionally concentrate my creative efforts. I particularly seek to capture the subtleties of color and light that bring a scene or subject to life. I work in both oil and acrylic, and my style shifts between realism or impressionism, depending on what captures the essence of the subject.”
